On July 14, 2025, the Princess of Asturias embarked on the frigate Blas de Lezo to continue her training as a midshipman at the Naval Military Academy. As part of her training aboard the frigate Blas de Lezo, the Princess of Asturias participated in Sinkex-25 (exercises in submarine warfare, surface warfare, anti-aircraft warfare, and weapons deployment) and the Dédalo Expeditionary Combat Group (deployment of Spanish and NATO ships and frigates).
During Sinkex-25, the Princess of Asturias was assigned to the Combat Information Center (CIC) of the frigate, popularly known as the ship's brain. During the deployment of the Dédalo Expeditionary Combat Group, the Princess of Asturias was assigned to the Bridge to assist the officers.
A total of 200 students from various specialties within the Spanish Navy were assigned to other units participating in Sinkex-25 (6 students, including the Princess of Asturias, were assigned to the frigate Blas de Lezo). An additional 1,900 Navy personnel, 12 ships and frigates, submarines, and 16 aircraft of various types (helicopters and fighter jets) also participated.
