A beautiful house in Greece which was renovated by Amanda Holden and Alan Carr as part of their latest BBC series has now come on the market. After taking on run-down €1 houses in Sicily, Tuscany and a Spanish townhouse in Moclín, the duo recently returned to screens to take on yet another challenging renovation in their property show Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job.

The TV stars packed their tool belts as they headed to the Greek island of Corfu to transform a crumbling house, which Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr described the ‘worst’ property he and the Britain’s Got Talent judge had tackled so far, he told The Sun. Despite this, the pair managed to pull off an impressive transformation – and the house now looks unrecognisable.

The stunning stone villa in Kokkini, a village up in the Corfu hills, had been empty for years before Amanda and Alan took it on. Now named ‘Alamanda’, it has been fully restored whilst maintaining plenty of its traditional Greek features – and it is up for sale on Rightmove at €675,000, which is around £589,800.

The derelict property required a lot of work following years of neglect, with the pair salvaging original features that were buried under dust and damage. With help from a local developer, the two-bed house is now a traditional Corfiot village home with charm and character.

Sitting on 326m² of land, Alamanda is surrounded by a pretty garden that’s been landscaped and fenced. Stepping inside, you head straight into the country-style kitchen with a high beamed ceiling, custom built-units with marble worktops offer and windows that allow plenty of sunlight to flood the room. The old stone floor has been restored and re-laid, adding to the lovely rustic feel.

A couple of stone steps then down lead into the spacious living room, with a large dining table at one end that could seat six to eight people, and comfy seating at the other. The wood beamed ceiling and floor tiles are light, giving the room a relaxed country atmosphere.

There are two double bedrooms upstairs, where are accessed by a staircase outside that leads up to a traditional ‘bodzo’ – an open terrace. Both bedrooms boast gorgeous sea views which you’ll never tire of waking up to. There is a spacious hallway with a mezzanine level, which leads to an authentic bathroom with a large custom built circular bathtub and colourful tiles.

The village of Kokkini is a short drive inland from the very popular area of Agios Stefanos, and the well-know seaside town of Kassiopi. All the money made from the sale of the property will be split equally and donated to the charities, Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need.
