A former star of The Brady Bunch shared a powerful message on a day that holds a very special place in her heart. Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady in the iconic television show, took to Instagram on National Caregiver’s Day to thank her parents.

On February 20, McCormick posted a snapshot of her family from years ago on her Instagram page. In the caption, she wrote, “Happy #NationalCaregiversDay. So grateful to my Mom and Dad who sacrificed each and every day with a heart full of love and patience for my brother Denny.”

Over the years, McCormick has spoken about her brother Denny frequently. As the Special Olympics website notes in a bio for McCormick, her brother has intellectual disabilities.

McCormick has often praised her parents for the care they provided Denny, calling them her role models. The Brady Bunch star herself has also become a fierce advocate for others who also live with intellectual disabilities.

In the caption of her new Instagram post, McCormick not only thanked her parents, but she added a message for others like them.

“To all the caregivers in my life and to all caregivers everywhere, THANK YOU! YOU are my HEROES!”

Fans and some of McCormick’s colleagues flooded the comment section of her Instagram post with words of support.

Holly Robinson Peete, who has a son who has autism, commented, “Beautiful photo. You are such an amazing loving sister. I’m so glad to know you.”

A number of McCormick’s Instagram followers left red heart emojis as comments, and some asked how Denny was doing.

One fan shared, “The apple certainly did not fall far from the tree. Love conquers all.”

Another comment read, “Such special people. Love our caretakers in the world! Angels on earth.”
