Kid Rock is not welcomed in California.

In fact, according to Governor Gavin Newsom, he is banned from going there again.

“I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH,” the Governor Newsom Press Office account shared on X Saturday. “I, GAVIN C. NEWSOM, AM OFFICIALLY BANNING ‘KID ROCK’ FROM CALIFORNIA. HIS SHIRTLESS VIDEO WITH ‘SECRETARY BRAINWORM’ WAS INAPPROPRIATE, CREEPY, AND VERY LOW ENERGY. NOT WHAT YOU WANT AROUND OUR CHILDREN!”

Newsom wasn’t finished.

“ALSO, SOME OF THE WEAKEST PUSHUPS EVER WITNESSED,” the statement continued. “CALIFORNIA ONLY ALLOWS WINNERS! I AM ALSO BANNING WORKING OUT IN JEANS, VERY STRANGE! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! — GOVERNOR GCN.”

Of course, the post was just trolling — Newsom has consistently poked at Donald Trump by fashioning posts to resemble his Truth Social offerings — the singer and the President. His post came after Kid Rock and Secretary of Health Robert Kennedy shared a video of themselves working out shirtless in jeans to encourage people to get active and eat real food.

Not everyone understood that Newsom was trolling, though.

“Yeah this is unconstitutional,” one person replied. “Have fun in court buddy.”

“So your definition of the ‘free world’ means one where you can ban people from it for saying things you don’t like?” another replied. “You are a tyrant.”

Others understood what Newsom was doing even if they didn’t appreciate it.

“I get you are trying to make a joke,” one person replied. “It’s almost funny… almost. Keep trying. Lil Guy. You’ll get there one day.”

There were also some who though the post was funny, and others who were simply stunned that many followers didn’t understand what Newsom was doing.

It all comes as Kid Rock has maintained a spot in the headlines following his Super Bowl LX halftime show performance for Turning Point USA.

The singer faced scrutiny for his previous comments about underage girls heading into that, and on Friday he invited more controversy by ripping the “fake liberal media” for reports that he is selling concert tickets for $5,000. He promptly explained that he is, in fact, selling concert tickets for $5,000.

The singer has not responded to Newsom’s post.
