Last week, Kelly Ripa marked 25 years, and her 6000 episode hosting Live with Kelly and Mark. It’s an incredible milestone, and her son Michael Consuelos surprised her with flowers to make the celebration extra special. While it was Ripa they were honoring, the 28-year-old may have stolen the show, looking exactly like a miniature version of his dad.

Ripa took to Instagram on Friday to share 20 sweet snaps and reflect on her achievement. “Thank you to this incredible crew of family and friends for going on a fantastic voyage with me! And to all of you, yes YOU for welcoming me into your homes for a quarter century!” she wrote in the caption.

In the photos, the father-son duo’s resemblance was uncanny. Michael kept it sleek in a gray suit with a black button-up and glasses, with his thick dark hair slicked to the side. His dad, meanwhile, wore an all-black suit with a matching crew-neck shirt.

It may have been Mark’s suit that Michael wore. He admitted in the past he raids his dad’s “cool” closet. “I often raid my dad’s closet — and he always notices. He’s like, ‘Hey, where’s this?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, you weren’t home. You were in Vancouver for a while, so I figured…’ He’s like, ‘Don’t figure, ask!'” he told PEOPLE in 2022.
He quipped that Mark wants him and his little brother, Joaquin, to look like him. “I got new glasses, and then my dad texts me, ‘Where did you get those glasses?'” Michael recalled. “And I’m like, ‘Oh no, can you at least pick a different color?’ My dad, my brother, and I will be wearing the same black pants and gray shirt, and I’m like, I try to look a little different than that. I like to stand out a little bit.”
In the episode, Mark pointed out that Michael was four years old when Ripa first joined the show in 2001 as co-host with the late Regis Philbin, replacing Kathie Lee Gifford.
Michael also reminisced about his favorite on-camera moments growing up, saying, “There are so many, but if I had to narrow it down to just a handful, I’d say the swamp tour in Louisiana where I threw the snake at you. That was pretty good. That was pretty awesome.”
Michael is the oldest of three. The couple also shares Joaquin, 22, and Lola, 24. Like his siblings, Michael has followed in his parents’ footsteps in the entertainment world. He describes himself as a “Producer/Writer/Actor” on Instagram, where he has over 93k followers.
In 2021, he guest-starred on The CW’s Riverdale, playing a younger version of his dad’s character, Hiram Lodge. He called it “a bucket list moment,” telling PEOPLE, “Acting opposite my dad was such a surreal experience, but we both had the BEST time, and I really enjoyed getting to walk around in Hiram’s shoes.”
He landed two other roles as Petey in the 2022 TV Movie, Let’s Get Physical, and Mr. Derek Cross in Dissocia (2023), according to his IMDb.
