It was rumoured, and now it’s official – Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” and Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” will be taking all North American IMAX screens upon their releases in July and December, respectively.
IMAX held its February 2026 investor presentation today and seems to confirm prior reports (via Reddit) that both titles will have the giant format screens exclusively in North America upon their release.
Their slate map confirms Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “Avengers: Doomsday” will only be available in IMAX in select international markets. Neither film was shot for IMAX.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens July 31st, two weeks after “The Odyssey” on July 17th. The next IMAX exclusive after “The Odyssey” will be “Flowervale Street” on August 14th. Both “Dune: Part Three” and “Avengers: Doomsday” are opening the same day – December 18th.
Other news from the presentation confirmed IMAX screens for “Scream 7,” “Hoppers,” “The Great Beyond,” “Panic Carefully” and “A Minecraft Movie 2”.
The news has spurred discussion online about whether Marvel should move the dates of the films, but there are no indications of any such plans at this time.
