EXCLUSIVE: CBS is developing You’re Only Young Twice, a multi-camera comedy starring and executive produced by Ashley Tisdale. It comes from CBS Studios.
Written by Tommy Johnagin (Ted Animated, That 90’s Show), the project centers on Emily (Tisdale) and Alex, who got pregnant and married in high school but now they’re 35 and their kid is starting college. That means they can get divorced and start life all over again while they’re still young enough to enjoy it. Newly divorced empty-nesters, they stumble through dating, co-parenting, and maybe a second chance at love.
Johnagin and Tisdale executive produce with Mandy Summers (That 90s Show, The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, A Different World reboot).
This marks a return to multi-camera comedy and CBS for Tisdale, who was a series regular on the 2020 sitcom Carol’s Second Act starring Patricia Heaton. The High School Musical alumna, who also starred on the CW drama series Hellcats and Netflix comedy series Merry Happy Whatever and is a main voice-over cast member of Phineas and Ferb, has been making waves with her “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group” essay for The Cut.
She is repped by Gersh and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
