After a long, arduous search, Italian filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher has found her three incestuous sisters. Rohrwacher will direct Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, and Josh O’Connor in The Three Incestuous Sisters, based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Rohrwacher wrote the script with Eileen author Ottessa Moshfegh, which Deadline reports is a loose adaptation, so plot details are scant.

For what it’s worth, Niffenegger’s 2005 adult fairy tale follows the sisters, Bettine, Ophile, and Clothilde, who move from their isolated home by sea to Paris. There, they meet a lighthouse keeper’s son, who reportedly “profoundly affects each sister emotionally.” Like other works by Niffenegger, the book is a “novel in pictures” that was compared to Edward Gorey. If the film follows any of that structure, we’re going to go ahead and predict that O’Connor plays the lighthouse keeper’s son.

This marks Rohrwacher’s second collaboration with O’Connor, who starred in her last film, La Chimera, as an emotionally distant and quasi-magical graverobber. In addition to great acclaim, the film enjoyed an impressive 25-week run at the IFC Center in New York.
