Honest Ruth Langsford has revealed the part of her body she dislikes the most – and hasn’t ruled out going under the knife one day. The much-loved Loose Women star has penned a book which is part memoir and part self help book called Feeling Fabulous.

But the 65-year-old – who split from Eamonn Holmes in 2024 – admits she does not always feel amazing and struggles on red carpets at posh events and she gets anxious and worries about what to wear.

Talking about what she doesn’t like about her appearance, ITV star Ruth writes: “I am self-conscious about my neck, particularly if the camera gets too close. It’s all I can see on screen. I work in an industry where a lot of people choose surgery. There is nothing quite as exposing as television (and the way it can add ten pounds and show every single wrinkle and the turkey neck) or the dreaded red carpet at high-profile events.

“I haven’t had Botox or fillers. I am often tempted and never say never, but taking such invasive action doesn’t sit comfortably with me. No shade on others who have ‘tweakments’ and plastic surgery; each of us needs to feel empowered to do what we want to our own bodies and faces.

“I am more interested in the motivation behind it. Are we doing it for ourselves, are we doing it for men, or are we trying to keep up with other women? Perhaps all three. Although I would be tempted to say it’s more likely to be for other women. That is where we may fear judgement and feel the need to be in the tribe, which can mean wearing the right clothes and looking a certain way.”

Ruth also said although it was often said in a way to make women feel positive, she was not confident enough to love her own body all the time. And we are unlikely to see her in a bikini in Ibiza on holiday anytime soon.

She explains: “I’m a bit sick of being told to love my body. I will decide if I do or I don’t and at this age, I don’t love it. There, I’ve said it. This isn’t just about growing older; I have never been body confident. Even in my youth, I wasn’t a skimpy dresser who was relaxed about displaying lots of cleavage and I never wore really short skirts.

“My idea of a hellish invitation – then and now – would be to a pool party where I might be expected to lounge around in a bikini. Like those Ibiza raves where everyone is bouncing about in thongs the width of dental floss or lazing around in Love Island with a beach ready body. That sort of situation would have me running for the hills. No thank you very much.”

Ruth’s book was released earlier this week and also discusses her career and family life, including her split from ex-husband Eamonn Holmes in 2024.

She is very positive about the future though and in an interview earlier this week with the Mirror said: “I can’t believe that here I am with a book I’d never, ever thought I would write a book, but I have.

“I’ve got some trips away planned. I’ve got fabulous things planned for my fashion range at QVC, and also I have an open mind to new things that come might come into my life. Who knows, but I feel 2026 is going to be a good one.”
