Sergio Hudson dressed three celebrities for the 2026 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, and the event served as a reminder that the designer has seamlessly translated his womenswear tailoring into menswear.
Saffron Steals The Spotlight
Starting with Colman Domingo, who will steal the spotlight on any red carpet, especially when wearing a saffron gold hue. Remember his Valentino moment at the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards? How could you forget? As always, the long coat really sells this look for me, anchoring the richness of the colour and sharpening the silhouette. The accessories cannot be overlooked either, including the Boucheron brooch, the shades with a matching yellow gold tint, and a pair of multi-coloured cowboy boots that have no business being here, yet Colman knows exactly how to make them work.

Strapless And Statuesque
The Kerry Washington roller coaster continues. Here, she looks effortlessly gorgeous from head to toe in Sergio Hudson’s strapless gown. This is the A-list goddess I love to see. The silhouette is doing most of the work, and she looks statuesque. The soft pink trim adds contrast that soften the outlook. More of this energy, please. Sabyasachi jewellery and a Tyler Ellis clutch accented with an Ice Out pin completed her look.

Tailoring With Impact
Tyler James Williams opted for traditional tailoring from Sergio Hudson, but the bold red floral accent ensured that the look stood out. The sharp black suit provided a clean foundation. A Blancpain Villeret Squelette 8 Jours timepiece completed the ensemble.
