The last time Meghan Markle was on UK soil, it was for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September of 2022. Nearly four years later, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly planning her big return, and she “wants to show the British public what they threw away,” according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice newsletter.
Her husband Prince Harry is set to be in Birmingham, England this July for the kickoff of his Invictus Games, which will be held there in 2027. Meghan, 44, has accompanied Harry, 41, to this event in the past, and according to Shuter, she is preparing to do so again.
Meghan’s desire to make a splash with her UK comeback is “not anger—it’s confidence,” a source told Shuter. The former Suits star is working with stylists to ensure she has “the best wardrobe ever seen on a British royal” for the occasion.

The timing of the visit also feels particularly perfect. “She feels vindicated” by the scandal surrounding ex-Prince Andrew, his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and his recent arrest, said a source. “There’s a sense of, ‘We tried to tell you.’”
Since their retreat from their royal roles in 2020, Harry and Meghan have not been granted taxpayer-funded armed security while in the UK, which Harry has said made it unsafe for the family to travel there. He has been fighting in court to have it reinstated. According to Shuter, Meghan and Harry will be renting a private home in Birmingham for their trip.
“She’s not going back quietly,” said the source. “If she returns, it will be on her terms.”
