A much-discussed shake-up of the royal line of succession could have serious impacts for royals other than Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew’s place in the line of succession has become a major talking point amongst leading politicians, with party leaders calling publicly for the King’s brother to be removed entirely.
It comes following increased scrutiny of his friendship with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his arrest last month for misconduct in public office. The former prince has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. However, if plans to remove Andrew from the line of succession, royal expert Jennie Bond believes that others should also be considered. She told the Daily Mirror: “Of course Andrew should be removed from the line of succession. Personally, I think they should also remove Harry and his children, plus Beatrice, Eugenie and their children from the line of succession. I think to have William and his children followed by Anne (bumping her up the order) and Edward is more than enough. So I would propose a complete shake up of the succession order.”
