In the mood for some fresh Prime Video streaming recommendations? If you’re hoping to cram a movie night into your schedule but don’t want to venture out to the movie theater, I’ve taken a look at the streaming service’s charts and highlighted a handful of watchlist-worthy picks.

Amazon’s streamer is home to such a huge range of new movies and TV shows, and all that choice can make choosing your next watch a tall order. You can’t always rely on the Prime Video top 10 lists for help, either; something can be trending and still not worth your precious viewing time, after all.

If it’s a simple action-comedy that you’re after, you could do worse than Guy Ritchie’s “Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre.” Sure, it’s not Ritchie’s best effort, nor did it fare brilliantly with critics, but fellow moviegoers liked it — it’s 82% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter — and I think you could do a lot worse than stream this star-studded action flick this week.

The film revolves around Orson Fortune (Jason Statham), an elite spy who leads a crack team that includes stars like Cary Elwes and Aubrey Plaza. They’re out to save the world by preventing the sale of dangerous weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms dealer, Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant). Along with some of the world’s very best operatives, Fortune reluctantly recruits Hollywood megastar Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett) to help them on their globe-trotting undercover mission.

It feels like we don’t see many adventures on the high seas on our screens these days, but if you’re in the mood for some swashbuckling, sword-swinging action, Prime Video’s latest original “The Bluff” is the movie for you.

This bloody adventure movie introduces us to Ercell (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), a former pirate who is forced to defend all that she holds dear when her past comes calling. She might have found peace settled in the Cayman Islands with her husband, son, and sister-in-law, but when her former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), shows up seeking revenge, her world is turned upside down, and she’s thrust back into that same deadly world she tried to turn her back on.

Despite premiering on Prime Video back in January, “The Wrecking Crew” is still one of the streamer’s most popular watches, and if the idea of an old-school buddy movie starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista appeals (and you’ve somehow not checked the film out already), then this could be the perfect watch for you this week.

In “The Wrecking Crew,” we meet estranged half-brothers Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista), who are reunited in the wake of their father’s mysterious death. As they search for the truth, they stumble on a conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart. Here’s what TG’s Malcolm McMillan had to say in his 2.5-star “The Wrecking Crew” review: “It’s formulaic, loaded with action movie tropes, but is too long and complicated for what it is, so it loses points for that. But it is a blast to watch thanks to Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista’s chemistry, and even features some surprisingly gory kills.”
