Last week, Jim Carrey went viral as he made a rare appearance and attended the César Film Awards in Paris.
Typically staying out of the spotlight nowadays, the actor delivered a speech on Thursday (26 February) as he accepted an honorary award.
But a lot of this was overshadowed by the conspiracy theories that the 64-year-old had been ‘replaced’ with a ‘double’.
This basically kicked off because Carrey looked a bit different and now a drag queen seems to be capitalising on these viral rumours.
Alexis Stone has claimed that they impersonated The Mask actor in the French capital.
The makeup artist shared close-up images of Carrey’s face before an image seeming to show a mask, wig and fake teeth in a hotel room looking out to the Eiffel Tower.

And on Instagram Stories, they posted what appears to be a cast of the actor’s head.
But, obviously, this has just started more theories that Stone is having a bit of a laugh and taking the p**s out of people claiming Carrey wasn’t really Carrey.
However, the only thing that makes this all a little trickier is that this is kind of Stone’s bag.

The makeup artist has convincingly impersonated other celebrities over the years, including Lana Del Rey, Glenn Close and Jack Nicholson – all be it typically as one of their characters.
But either way, people are very divided by Stone’s claim, especially since there is footage from the event of Carrey giving a speech sounding an awful lot like Jim Carrey. Have a look below:
Stone shared clips to their Instagram story seeming to ‘prove’ that they are in Paris (as themselves).
“Did I just have 100 fights defending Jim Carrey’s plastic surgery decisions for nothing?!?!?!” one user commented as another added: “I KNEWWWW IT !! something happened with my mans !! I knew that couldn’t be him.”
But others claimed the image of the mask was ‘AI generated’ with many demanding: “Prove it.”
“Nah, we need more proof. Show us some video footage of the process,” others agreed.
Plenty of celebrities were baffled too, as Megan Fox commented: “I can’t handle any more stress right now I need to know if this is real.”
And Lisa Rinna said: “You blow me away.”
I mean, it wouldn’t be crazy to just think Carrey’s face looks different – it’s Hollywood after all. Plus, he’s given us so many faces over the years, can we not just accept this?
Whether you believe it was actually him or not, during his speech on Thursday night, the actor mentioned a new woman in his life.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah,” Carrey said in French. “I love you, Min Ah. And finally, thank you to the funniest man I have ever known: my father, Percy Joseph Carrey who taught me the value of love, generosity, and laughter.”
Representatives for Carrey have since confirmed to the LADbible Group that he did attend the César Film Awards in Paris.
