Kurt Russell was described as “ageing like a fine wine” as the actor featured on The One Show.

The film star was on the sofa alongside his son Wyatt Russell – whom he shares with partner Goldie Hawn – on the BBC programme on Monday (March 2). The duo appeared to discuss their programme Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, but whilst they spoke with hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, numerous viewers found themselves distracted by Kurt’s appearance.

Several people shared messages on X, formerly known as Twitter, commenting on how “handsome” the Hollywood icon looked. The fact Kurt is 74 also sparked reaction, with one admirer saying “no way” given his appearance.

“Wow Kurt Russell is still handsome,” one fan wrote on the platform, whilst another posted a red heart emoji, reports Wales Online.

“How nice to see Kurt Russel aging naturally and gracefully without the need for face lifts, fillers and Botox,” remarked someone else, adding: “Good for him!”

Another viewer observed: “No way Kurt Russell is 74! Ageing like a fine wine.”

They continued: “Obviously there was the legend Snake Plissken. But before that caused much swooning by teenage me watching The Quest on a Saturday afternoon.”

“Can’t believe Kurt has been acting since the 60s,” said someone else.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which launched on Apple TV+ in 2023, tracks a secretive organisation called Monarch as they encounter various creatures, including Godzilla.

Kurt and Wyatt portray the same character, ex-US Army colonel Lee Shaw, with Kurt taking on the older incarnation and Wyatt depicting him as a younger man.

Presenter Alex asked: “Did you have meetings about mannerisms, or did it come naturally because you are, of course, dad and son?”

Kurt responded: “When they came to us, we had offers of playing father and son a lot. But we looked at this and said, ‘Wait a minute, playing the same guy and all these eras apart? That would be interesting’.”

He continued: “It was a double-edged sword, whether, you know, monster world is something you want to mess with or not.”

Wyatt explained: “Most of the monster movies that we saw, you know, the monsters are the catalyst for the event that the humans go through,” before adding: “And this happened to be where the humans are the catalyst for the monsters and like, what you see doing that.”

Kurt noted: “They react to what the people are doing,” whilst Wyatt chimed in: “And that was very interesting and different and that’s what, you know, the show does well.”
