Sure, in 2026 there are plenty of ways to access our favourite celebrities – we might follow them on Instagram; watched their YouTube makeup tutorials or even have saved on of their personal Spotify playlists to our phones. But for the cinephiles among us, we’re mostly itching for insider information about one thing: what movies are our favourite celebrities watching? And even more to the point – what did they think of them?
Even though we’ve got to live the internet having outed Ayo Edebiri’s Letterboxd account (prompting her to swiftly delete it in all its hilarious glory), there are a few other actors and directors, singer and creatives that have decided they’re cool with unleashing their personal watch lists to the public.
From Rachel Sennott’s unapologetic, witty reviews to Charli XCX’s unexpected voice as a budding film critic, these stars are reshaping how we experience movies. These are your favourite celebrities on Letterboxd (and how to follow them)…
1. Rachel Sennott
Top four: The Bling Ring, Saved!, Jennifer’s Body and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
It’s no surprise that the actor who found her way into Shiva Baby was discovered during her years studying film at NYU. And she’s continued to be a fan in more ways than one – her Letterboxd is filled with hilariously brazen and candid reviews about taking sleeping pills and missing flights to how A24’s Beau Is Afraid made her feel French.
2. Charli XCX
Top four: The Addiction, Céline and Julie Go Boating, Maps to the Stars and Phantom Thread
Charli recently outed herself as a bonafide movie reviewer to her friends and fans on TikTok and has been sharing her reviews quite publicly for the last few months. Despite how chaotic her schedule might appear through the glass of our phone screens, she still finds ample time to watch plenty of classics, Indie hits and cult favourites – from early 2000s independent anthology films to 1980s Japanese animes.
3. Dacre Montgomery
Top four: The Big Blue, Waves, Irreversible and Knight of Cups
The Australian Stranger Things star seems to have a penchant for underground films and action flicks – and although he’s a man of few words when it comes to his reviews (“Pelvis?” and “Brilliant.” being just some of his analyses), we certainly can’t argue with his taste.
4. Martin Scorsese
Top four: currently not listed
He Godfather of modern cinema himself, Scorsese is a patron of the app (meaning he’s paying for the highest tier of membership). He’s yet to list his top four and doesn’t seem to be logging his activity on the app – but he does have a list of Liked movies that you can swiftly add to your own ‘to watch’ list.
5. Sean Baker
Top four: The Idiots, Nights of Cabiria, Oasis and Miami Connection
The Oscar-winning director behind last year’s Best Picture winner Anora has a fairly active presence on the app – though he’s not prone to a review in words. But in case you wanted to simply watch the same films along with him – you can find his list here.
6. Kyle Maclachlan
Top four: Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, The Duellists and Das Boot
There aren’t many people who exist in multitudes like Kyle McLachlan. From his days as the muse of the late David Lynch to his current persona as podcast host and general internet fiend, Maclachlan has shown that he’s not able to be boxed in – and that taste is reflected perfectly in his Letterboxd profile. He’s not logging his activity actively – but he does have a great list of his top films and recent watched.
7. Ed Sheeran
Top four: Goodfellas, Cool Runnings, Lord of the Rings: Two Towers and The Godfather
Sheeran’s bio is “I make music but I like movies so here we are” you can tell from his meticulous reviews and wide-ranging movie taste that that certainly rings true.
8. Wim Wenders
Top four: not currently listed
The renowned German filmmaker, photographer, and key figure in New German Cinema is also on the app – and writing some movie fabulous reviews.
9. McKenna Grace
Top four: Priscilla, Romeo + Juliet, Tangled and The Notebook
McKenna Grace is arguably everywhere right now – from The Hunger Games prequel to the Scream franchise – and right now, you can also find her on Letterboxd, too.
10. Mason Thames
Top four: Spiderman 2, The Notebook, Step Brothers and Big Hero 6
Thames – star of The Black Phone and How to Train Your Dragon – is also covertly on the site under the moniker ‘petermacadamia2’. He’s fairly active on the platform too – regularly reviewing his latest watches.
11. Francis Ford Coppola
Top four: not currently listed
While we’re hoping one day Coppola will update his profile to include a top four, right now it’s merely an archive of some liked films. Still, we’re hungry for the scraps.
12. Iman Vellani
Top four: Cleo from 5 to 7, The Blues Brothers, Harold and Maude and Iron Man
The Marvel actress is a regular on Letterboxd – with plenty of enthusiastic review to read through.
