The Gist

Nicole Kidman appeared on the March 2 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

For the appearance, the actress wore a monochromatic leather look from Khaite, complete with pointed-toe heels and sheer stockings.

In the interview, Kidman discussed upcoming projects with Fallon like the Amazon Prime Video series Scarpetta and the forthcoming film Practical Magic 2.

Nicole Kidman returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 2—and brought a bold, fashion-forward look with her for her appearance.

The actress wore a monochromatic leather look from Khaite to chat with Fallon about her upcoming Amazon Prime Video series Scarpetta and her upcoming film Practical Magic 2, among other topics. Kidman’s ensemble included a cropped, tailored leather jacket with button detailing and sharply structured shoulders which she paired with a black maxiskirt, sheer stockings, and pointed-toe heels. She wore her blonde hair in soft waves and her glam consisted of a smokey eye and a glossy lip. Per Hello!, following her interview with Fallon, Kidman added an oversize leopard print jacket on top of her look.

During the interview with Fallon, Kidman spoke about her now-iconic AMC advertisement, poignantly quoting the line, “Heartbreak feels good in a place like this” while on The Tonight Show. Kidman and her ex-husband Keith Urban finalized their divorce as 2026 began; the two were married for 19 years and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

Of her AMC ad, Kidman told Fallon, “The weirdest thing about that was, it shows you when something…I had no idea that thing was going to work, and we did it out of the purest of intentions,” adding that she did the spot to help movie theaters during the pandemic.

Of the forthcoming Practical Magic 2, Kidman said on Monday, “I hope you love the movie because the movie’s got a lot of witchy love in it.”

Interestingly, during an episode of The Tonight Show last year, Fallon himself spoke about going on a date with Kidman—though it didn’t go so well, apparently. The two played the game Mario Kart, and in a 2015 episode of Fallon’s show, Kidman recalled of the date, “Our mutual friend was like, ‘Oh, Jimmy wants to meet you, so you can go over to his apartment.’ And I’m single, and I’m like, ‘Okay, yeah. Cool.’” But Fallon didn’t seem to realize it was a date, exclaiming to Kidman, “Wait! What are you talking about? Did I date Nicole Kidman? Did we go on a date?” He clarified that he thought they were being introduced to discuss an upcoming movie role, to which Kidman added, “I went over, and you’re there in a baseball cap and, like, nothing. And you wouldn’t talk. You wouldn’t say anything, and then you put a video game on or something.”

“I swear, and you wouldn’t talk at all,” she added. “And so after about an hour and a half, I thought, ‘He has no interest. This is so embarrassing.’” Kidman continued, “It was so bad.”

To this, Fallon said he was “in shock right now. I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman. This is fantastic!”

Fallon went on to marry Nancy Juvonen in 2007, one year after Kidman married Urban. These days, “Nicole’s not rushing into dating,” a source close to her told People. “She’s in a really good place now.”

After the drama surrounding her divorce from Urban, “things have settled down,” the insider said. “She’s focused on the things that make her happy, like family and work.” That said, she has “had conversations with close friends, though, about dating,” but said conversations are “lighthearted.”

“She doesn’t feel any pressure,” the source said. “But when she’s ready, she will rely on her close circle to make introductions. She’s not someone who would jump into anything randomly.”
