If you’re looking for a feel-good film to watch tonight, Prime Video has just added 2018’s Swimming with Men. The comedy-drama follows an accountant who joins an all-male group of synchronised swimmers.

Gavin & Stacey’s Rob Brydon stars an Eric, whose mid-life crisis leads him to join the synchronised swimming team.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Initially keeping their personal lives in the locker, the ramshackle squad slowly learn to reveal their inner lives, as well as their paunches.

“But can they get their lives and routines in sync as they embark on an unlikely journey to Milan to compete in the World Championship?”

Alongside Brydon, Swimming with Men’s all-star British cast includes Line of Duty and The Thursday Murder Club’s Daniel Mays as well as Sherlock’s Rupert Graves.

Viewers on IMDB have praised the film for being feel-good and heart-warming, while also delivering plenty of laughs.

One fan wrote: “What an absolutely delightful film! If you want to see a feel-good movie of note, this is a very good choice – especially if you’re middle-aged!”

Another added: “Great fun film. Well directed and loads of stars. Acting was brilliant. Take it as you find it light hearted and a feel food film.”

While a third wrote: “I didn’t expect much from the title and the known storyline. But – while watching this movie I had tears in my eyes most of the time because either it was so funny or I was emotionally moved.”

Others compared the film to British classic The Full Monty for its underlying message regarding male loneliness and the importance of adult friendship groups.

One fan called it “The Full Monty with water”, while another called it an “ode” to the classic 1997 film.
