Monroe has been selected to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.
Monroe will represent France at Eurovision 2026. France Télévisions has once again opted to internally select their singer and song for the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster has opted to internally select both its singer and song since 2023, having held a televised national selection between 2018 and 2022.
Monroe was born in Utah in the United States to a French mother and an American father. She rose to prominence in 2024 after winning the France 2 talent show Prodiges, where she made an instant impression on audiences with her operatic voice. Following her Prodiges victory, she released her debut album and is set to go on tour across France this spring.
The song that Monroe will perform in Vienna is called “Regarde!” (Look!). It will be revealed at a later date.

France in the Eurovision Song Contest+
France was one of seven countries to participate in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Since then, they have participated in every contest except 1974 and 1982. Their withdrawal in 1974 was caused by the death of President Georges Pompidou, while 1982’s withdrawal was a result of TF1 declining to enter the contest. France has won the contest on five occasions, most recently in 1977, when Marie Myriam performed “L’oiseau et l’enfant”. France’s best result of the 21st century came in 2021, when Barbara Pravi finished second in Rotterdam with “Voilà”.
