Meghan Markle has reportedly cut ties with Netflix amid fears that it was “holding her brand As Ever brand back”. The 44-year-old will now be taking “complete control” of her brand, which she officially launched back in April 2025.

The streaming service became a partner of As Ever last year, with the brand launching at the same time as the release of the first series of With Love, Meghan. According to insiders, Meghan is relieved to be “going it alone”, with her reportedly expressing fears that she was being “held back” by “cautious” Netflix.

Despite the “split”, Meghan is said to be “on good terms” with Netflix supremo Ted Sarandos, The Sun has reported.

A source has said: “Meghan is still on good terms with the Netflix team and close personal friends with Ted (Sarandos) so hasn’t wanted to upset him, but is very happy to have full control of the company.

“It’s a good time for Meghan to have complete control, given recent successes.

“Netflix have been a good partner, but she’s wanted to go global with the brand for some time, but has been held back by the more cautious Netflix team.”

Meghan and Harry reportedly still have their “first-look deal” with the streaming service, with more projects planned in the pipeline.

With As Ever currently only selling products within the US, there are plans for an expansion to other parts of the world – including the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

A spokesman for Meghan said: “As ever is grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year. We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”
