LifeHack, the “captivating” heist thriller starring Doctor Who’s Yasmin Finney, has received its first intense trailer. Marking Irish filmmaker Ronan Corrigan’s directorial debut, the film stars Finney as one of four teenagers involved in a plot to steal £24 million from a tech billionaire’s crypto wallet.

Joining Finney on the cast are Wednesday actor Georgie Farmer, Sex Education star Roman Hayeck-Green, Outlander’s Jessica Reynolds and content creator James Scholz.

The synopsis reads: “Kyle and his three friends spend their time gaming and pranking online scammers with their hacking skills. Eager for a real challenge, Kyle persuades them to target billionaire Don Heard by exploiting his daughter Lindsey’s overshared social media presence.

“When the foursome successfully infiltrate Don’s cryptocurrency wallet, they believe they’ve pulled off the perfect crime – until Lindsey calls Kyle with an ultimatum. As the stakes escalate, what begins as a thrill-seeking stunt spirals into a dangerous game with consequences these four friends never anticipated.”

As the exciting new trailer shows, the group of teens get together via video call to focus their efforts on finding out as much as they can about Lindsey before going on a spending spree with their stolen money.

Things clearly take a dark turn after Lindsey calls them, saying: “You have no idea who you were stealing from.”

Described as “high-stakes cyber-heist thriller”, LifeHack garnered an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 14 reviews following its premiere at SXSW in 2025.

Collider said of the film: “LifeHack is a captivating, exhilarating, and full-speed heist thriller that marks one hell of a feature debut. Corrigan has a bright future as a filmmaker, given how he conquers such a technique-driven subgenre with such completeness out of the gate.”

“The internet is the closest thing these teenage cyberthieves have to a real life, and Corrigan’s dopamine onslaught of a film is an authentic portrait of the most alive they’ve ever been,” penned IndieWire.

Variety wrote: “With the Ronan Corrigan-directed LifeHack, the [Screenlife] genre now moves dauntlessly into heist movie territory. Your mileage may vary, but for fans of the format, it’s an absolute treat.”

Michael Fassbender, who serves as executive producer on the film, said: “Ronan is a special filmmaker and did an amazing job with LifeHack. We’re very proud to be a part of it at DMC and to continue our work supporting emerging Irish and British talent.”

LifeHack is slated for release on 15 May in the US, with a UK release yet to be confirmed.
