Saint Martin’s University has announced that celebrity chef Renee Erickson is hosting this year’s edition of its annual gala.
The event, set for Nov. 7, raises funds to support student scholarships presented by the school. Attendees of the black-tie gathering will be treated to a five-course gourmet dinner while Erickson presents live cooking demonstrations. Last year’s gala raised $2 million, according to a release.
Erickson is a James Beard award-winning Seattle-based chef and the co-owner of multiple restaurants, including The Walrus and the Carpenter, Lioness, and several others. She is also an award-winning author who’s released several cookbooks, including “A Boat, a Whale, and a Walrus” and her latest, “Sunlight & Breadcrumbs.”
“We are delighted to welcome Chef Renee Erickson to Saint Martin’s for our 2026 Gala,” Bill Brownsberger, president of Saint Martin’s University, said in the release. “Her commitment to culinary excellence and community reflects the Benedictine values that guide our university. The gala is a celebration of hospitality and generosity, and Chef Erickson’s artistry will help us create an unforgettable evening celebrating and supporting our students.”
