Recently came the rumour that Daniel Craig had been offered the key role of Christopher Dent in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II” and, if he passes, Liam Neeson would be offered it next.

The character is said to be the father of Harvey Dent and was initially offered to Brad Pitt and then Stellan Skarsgard, both actors declining.

Now, World of Reel reports that Craig, currently prepping for Damien Chazelle’s prison-set movie alongside Cillian Murphy and Michelle Williams, has also passed.

The site also claims they’ve heard the film will see District Attorney Harvey Dent (Sebastian Stan), Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), and Batman/Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) “forming an uneasy alliance to bring down a serial killer and the city’s entrenched mafia power”.

That sounds like a variation on the classic Batman comic “The Long Halloween” which chronicles how Gotham went from a city controlled by rival mob families to one overrun by crazy costumed loners.

Also starring in the film are Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, and presumably Barry Keoghan. Filming on “The Batman: Part II” is expected to kick off in the last week of May in London.
