Joel Dommett has admitted that a fake row on his new ITV series was the “most awkward” thing he’s ever witnessed.
The television presenter and influencer GK Barry are fronting the programme, which features celebrities playing pranks on people who believe they are participants in a new show, reports the Daily Star.
The duo appeared on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday (March 12), where host Cat Deeley observed that situations could become “tense” on their programme. She referenced one sequence where married celebrities Emma and Matt Willis had to pretend to clash in a hot tub they were in with two unsuspecting members of the public.
“Yes, this is, this is unbelievable,” acknowledged Joel. “It is the most awkward thing I have ever witnessed in my life. It was just… Basically, their task, was they had to get these two people to leave the hot tub.”
“They make it so awkward,” concurred GK.

“They make it so awkward that they have to leave,” stated Joel. “And fair play to Matt and Emma, they really committed to it, didn’t they?”
“But they went, like, they went full-on fight, didn’t they?” enquired Cat, joking that it was a “terrible moment”.
When the two men – who were both named Jason – departed the hot tub, they believed that filming on the fake programme had concluded, but the Celebrity Sabotage cameras continued tracking them.

Joel added: “So, then we filmed the Jasons going back into their little hotel room. And we are filming their reaction to the whole thing. We were dying with laughter!”
He and social media personality GK reflected on how enjoyable the experience had been, with GK joking: “Yeah, it was… It’s set the bar quite high now – I don’t know if I’ll ever have fun again.”
Cat asked whether anyone had responded “badly” to the pranks, but GK clarified that once participants discovered there was a cash prize involved, they were accepting of it.
“We start it by going, ‘Oh, we sabotaged you, you are on this new show’,” she told Cat and her co-host Ben Shephard. “Then we say, ‘And we made you money.’ And then it was all fine. It was all fine.”
