Vertical
Vertical has premiered the first trailer for “Desert Warrior,” the big-budget action epic starring Anthony Mackie and directed by Rupert Wyatt (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “The Gambler”).
Set in 7th-century Arabia, at a time when the shifting sands were full of disparate, feuding tribes. One such tribe is led by a ruthless emperor (Sir Ben Kingsley), who comes across a princess (Aiysha Hart) and attempts to make her his concubine/
Defying him, the princess flees into the Arabian desert, hunted by mercenaries. Forged into a warrior and aided by a legendary bandit (Mackie), she unites warring tribes for a last stand that will change history.
Sharlto Copley, Ghassan Massoud, Sami Bouajila, Lamis Ammar, Géza Röhrig, and Numan Acar co-star in the film, the largest production to ever film in Saudi Arabia.
Shot back in late 2021, the film had a long post-production period with some behind-the-scenes issues leading to delays. It ulimately premiered at the Zurich Film Festival last year.
Vertical will release “Desert Warrior” in cinemas on April 24th.
