The Oscars may be on Sunday, but there was plenty of entertainment royalty at a Central California institution last weekend as Lucky’s Steakhouse in Montecito celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Larry David, Carol Burnett, Michael Douglas and Kevin Costner were among the regulars feting the famed Coast Village Road restaurant at a Sunday evening bash. There were also rumors that actual royalty — and current Montecito residents — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be in attendance, though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ultimately didn’t show.

Still, Burnett held court at her usual corner in the main dining room, while Michael J. Fox was spotted at the next table catching up with longtime friend and Back to the Future co-star Christopher Lloyd. Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum took in the live jazz band by the restaurant entrance, while new Montecito transplants Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt snuck sips of Saint-Émilion merlot in the restaurant’s wine cellar with general manager Larry Nobles (Pratt and Montag told Rolling Stone they moved to Montecito temporarily as they figure out how to rebuild their Pacific Palisades home, which burned down in the L.A. wildfires).

Lucky’s opened near the entrance of the Coast Village shopping district in 2000, taking over what was formerly the Montecito Bungalows (which were built in 1926). Known for their steaks and seafood, the casual contemporary restaurant quickly became a favorite for both locals and tourists alike. In addition to the stars that showed up for the anniversary bash, Montecito residents Charlie Puth, Adam Levine, Ellen Degeneres and Oprah Winfrey are frequent diners at Lucky’s (indeed, while Oprah was rumored to be at the party on Sunday, the talk show host and media mogul was spotted in France, attending Paris Fashion Week).

In a short speech at the anniversary party, general manager Larry Nobles thanked the staff for “being the heart and soul of this place,” before turning his attention to his longtime patrons. “We thank you for your investment in the restaurant and in the community we serve,” he said. Nobles was then joined by owner Gene Montesano, alongside partners Jimmy Argyropoulos and Herb Simon, to raise a celebratory toast.

While the Montecito was the first Lucky’s location, the restaurant has since expanded to include locations in Malibu, Soho and the Hamptons, with a Downtown Los Angeles opening set for later this year.
