Up until now, there has been no release date for the new film, but thanks to May Hong, we now know it will be ours to watch in 2029.
In October, Maggie Kang, one of the film’s directors told BBC News: “There’s definitely more we can do with these characters in this world.
“And whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see.”
In a news statement she added, “I feel immense pride as a Korean filmmaker that the audience wants more from this Korean story and our Korean characters.
“There’s so much more to this world we have built, and I’m excited to show you. This is only the beginning.”
And in an interview with US entertainment magazine, Variety, she also said that if she were given the opportunity to make a sequel, she’d love to expand on Zoey and Mira’s backstory a bit more.
