Hulu’s breakout hit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has reportedly paused filming on season five for the time being. “They are not filming,” a source told People. “Taylor Frankie Paul has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.” With no official statement from Hulu or Paul, the details are still unclear, but the problem reportedly revolves around Paul’s relationship with her ex, Dakota Mortensen. Draper City police confirmed that there is an ongoing “domestic assault investigation” and that “allegations have been made in both directions.” Apparently, the police have been involved since late February. A Mormon Wives source also noted to People that “None of the women want to be associated with her.” That’s easiest for Whitney Leavitt, who is far away from Utah and starring in Chicago on Broadway.

This isn’t the first time Paul has been involved with a domestic-violence case. She was arrested in 2023 and accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that hit her daughter. At the time, she was charged with two felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child and one felony count of aggravated assault, per CBS News. She then said that all charges were dropped while guesting on Call Her Daddy.

Even with filming paused on Mormon Wives, Paul is currently gearing up to star on The Bachelorette, which returns March 22. So far, ABC has made no public moves to stop that season from airing. Paul was also literally at the Oscars just last night. Her very public secret life continues apace.
