King Charles III used two senior palace staff to buy a house next door to Queen Camilla's for around $5 million after it was at risk of being turned into a wedding venue, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reported, though, that the sale was run through a private company, Frisa Nominees Ltd, set up by two senior Buckingham Palace aides, James Chalmers, Keeper of the Privy Purse and Treasurer to the King, and Catherine James, of the Private Secretaries Office at Buckingham Palace.
Newsweek has confirmed the appointments on Britain's Company's House. Charles is listed as a "person with significant control," described in documentation as: "His Most Gracious Majesty King Charles The Third."
Some may raise eyebrows at publicly funded Buckingham Palace aides being used to buy a property purely to prevent wedding guests snooping on Camilla during her private downtime away from the palace.
