The various scandals pertaining to the ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor seem to be affecting the royal privileges of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. In fact, they have reportedly been banned from the Royal Ascot event.
A new report by Express suggests that Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, believes that the York sisters should stop using their royal titles. According to him, Eugenie and Beatrice lead a lavish lifestyle, one that has long faced public scrutiny.
He also pointed out that their spending habits have appeared out of step with public expectations. In fact, Beatrice was reported to have taken 17 holidays in 2015 while earning £19,000 at Sony. This prompted questions at the time about their roles and sources of income.
Fitzwilliams said, “Beatrice and Eugenie are now both married with jobs, and perhaps the way forward is – like with the Sussexes – not to strip them of their titles but an agreement that they do not use them.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020. While they retain their Sussex titles, they were asked not to use them for financial gain. The royal expert believes that similar strictness should also be applied to Beatrice and Eugenie. This ongoing debate has once again sparked discussions about the relevance and usage of royal titles.
