You know you’re real friends when you can joke with each other, and that basically defines Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford‘s relationship.
The Project Hail Mary star made a recent appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where he shared the moment he realized his Blade Runner 2049 co-star is “not like” everyone else.
During the episode, Jason asked Gosling if he’s ever had sex to the soundtracks of his own movies, as Ford previously told Jimmy Kimmel that he had. While Gosling admitted that he’s not personally done that, saying, “That’s a hard no,” he was also not the least bit surprised that his former co-star has.
“Of course Harrison has [done that],” Gosling said with a laugh. “I always say, like, ‘Never meet your heroes unless they’re Harrison Ford.’ He’s as cool as you want him to be.”
The Barbie star went on to recall when Ford “housed like 15” Advil after punching him in the face while they were filming the 2017 neo-noir science fiction film.
“He punched me one time in a scene and then when they brought me ice for my face, he took the ice away, he put his fist in it, and he said, ‘I forgive you,’” Gosling recounted. “And then they brought me Advil. I went to take two Advil and he took the whole thing, and he housed like 15 of them.”
“He’s not like us,” the actor added. “He could just house half a bottle of Advil as a joke.”
To prove just how unique the Shrinking star is, Gosling also detailed another story to the Kelce brothers — Ford stapled his signature Indiana Jones hat to his head to keep it from flying off during production of 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.
“He’s riding. His hat kept coming off. He’s riding the horse. He stapled it to his head,” he explained. “They were trying to tape it and he said, ‘Forget it. Give me a stapler.’ And he stapled it to his head.” (Ford previously confirmed the story to GQ, while showing off a scar he had due to the staples.)
Jason later asked Gosling if it’s well known that Ford is “just a lunatic,” but The Fall Guy star reiterated, “He’s not like us. He’s that guy.”
