Princess Catherine is back looking fantastic in a tiara.

The Princess of Wales brought out a favorite piece of royal jewelry last night, Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara, to host a state banquet. She and Prince William welcomed Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and first lady Oluremi Tinubu to Windsor Castle to celebrate their state visit. The moment was historic, as it marked the first state visit to the United Kingdom by a Nigerian leader in 37 years, and the first to be hosted at Windsor Castle.

Kate was a vision in the gleaming diamond-and-pearl crown, which she coordinated with her Greville sapphire-and-diamond fringe drop earrings, and a glittery gold clutch.

For her ensemble, the princess slipped into a glamorous emerald-green dress (days after debuting a monochrome green look for St. Patrick’s Day) with a high neck, airy bell sleeves, and a built-in belt cinching it at the waist. She paired it with satin heels in the same shade of green.

Over the gown, Kate wore her blue royal sash, to which she pinned a glittering brooch: the Royal Family Order of King Charles III. Placed on a silky white bow, the badge featured a miniature portrait of her father-in-law.

As is royal custom, a portrait of the reigning monarch is gifted to female members of the royal family for their service to the crown. It is a tradition that dates back to King George IV in 1820. Charles’s pin was debuted by his wife, Queen Camilla, at their 2024 state banquet hosted in honor of the Japanese Imperial family.
