Removal vans have been pictured arriving at Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s new home Marsh Farm over the past week, transporting his precious artwork and other belongings – in boxes labelled “HRH” no less, despite Andrew losing his royal title last year.
The King’s disgraced brother is due to move into his permanent home by Easter. However, it appears Andrew, 66, may be relocating next door sooner than expected.
He is currently based at Wood Farm, Prince Philip’s retirement home, on the King’s private Sandringham estate. But with the Easter holidays coming up, he may be asked to vacate soon and to move into his permanent home next door so that other members of the royal family can make use of Wood Farm.
In the most recent episode of HELLO!’s A Right Royal Podcast, The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson explained: “The royal family use Wood Farm a lot and the Easter holidays are coming up, so there may be wider extended members of the family that would want to pop up for a holiday, a free holiday, basically and want to use Wood Farm.

“So Andrew’s got to get into Marsh Farm next door pretty sharpish. They’ve put the gates up, these big security gates outside. They’ve been working around the clock for the last couple of weeks. The furniture has gone in. We had a fridge and a big wardrobe going in. We’ve had carpets going in, it looks like kitchen has been completely done. And then we had the removal vans, which is artwork that’s been in storage, turn up this week to move into Marsh Farm.”
Matt added: “We were told that we were to expect Andrew to be into his new final exile by Easter, which is the first weekend in April. But I have a sneaking suspicion he could be in even before that, because they want Wood Farm back. You know, the longer he’s there, the more comfy he gets.”

As for which members of the family often use Wood Farm, Matt explained: “The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh often stay there, but wider members of the family do too. It was likened to me before like the family caravan that might be sitting on the drive. So at Christmas, you know, if you’ve got all the family around and the spare rooms are full, they use Wood Farm.”
