Meghan Markle’s partnership with Netflix concluded with her As Ever brand going independent.
Previously, the ex-Royal, alongside her husband Prince Harry, worked with the streaming conglomerate on a variety of projects, including their bombshell docuseries. Plus, her lifestyle show, “With Love, Meghan,” ran on the streamer for two seasons before receiving an axe.
A spokesman for Netflix said, “Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life.
“As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world.”
However, the shakeup might have taken a bit hit to Meghan’s reputation, which already was shrouded in controversy. Experts are warning her that it might be a time to step back.

“My honest advice? Gracefully exit the spotlight – and mean it this time. The Netflix deal is done, the Spotify deal is done, the memoir has been written. At some point you have to read the room, and the room has been pretty clear: the public has moved on,” Adrienne Uthe, Founder of Kronus Communications, told the Express US.
“That’s not a personal indictment – it’s just reality. The audience that was initially fascinated by their royal exit has lost interest, and no rebranding effort or content pivot is going to manufacture engagement that isn’t organically there. You can’t force relevance, and the harder they try, the more it underscores the problem.”
Adrienne claimed the change would be both “dignified” and “strategic.” She advised the duo to focus on their children and personal life and leave the media frenzy behind them. After all, she thinks doing it “on their own terms” provides benefits of longevity that other mainstream couples don’t always get.
“Harry and Meghan still have the option to control that narrative – but that window doesn’t stay open forever,” she added.
Another expert pointed out that this is just the latest in a series of career changes for the couples. While the pair were in the British Royal Family, their key focus was the duties that came with their titles and philanthropic activites. However, now, they have become business-savvy.
While they keep up their charity work, Meghan and Harry have also entered into a variety of business contracts. At one point, Meghan launched a partnership with Spotify for her Archetypes podcast. They further made plans to produce a fiction movie alongside Netflix.

However, these contstantly shifting plans might be posing an obstacle for their public images. “They’ve pivoted so many times in their business ventures and social media stunts and it seems like nothing’s working. By this point, the pivots are looking less like calculated moves and more like chaos,” warned Jonathon Narvey, Chief Executive Officer at Mind Meld PR Inc.
Unlike Adrienne, Jonathon wagered the absence didn’t need to be quite so permenant. Instead, he predicted a few moths to a year could let them reset.
“They can take some time off to plan what they really want to do with their lives and business ventures. They can look to cut deals behind the scenes with other streaming platforms or other types of businesses,” he said, adding they could find an “optimal time” to come back to the limelight.
He added, “Perhaps that would be when there’s some new royal news they can newsjack, or a sudden spike in interest in the kind of business they were pursuing already.”
