Ryan Gosling made a rare comment regarding his sex life with his partner of over a decade, Eva Mendes, on the “New Heights” podcast with Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. On the March 18 episode, the Project Hail Mary actor was asked if he ever has sex while playing soundtracks from his films. “No,” the 45-year-old answered plainly. “That’s a hard no. That’s an easy no.”
Gosling and Mendes, 52, have been romantically linked since 2011, after they met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines, and they share two daughters: Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee. After Mendes began referring to Gosling as her “husband” in 2022, many assumed that they’d tied the knot, though the couple has yet to confirm this theory.

Gosling rarely opens up about his relationship with Mendes, but he did offer a small tidbit about their connection in his 2023 GQ cover story.
“When you asked me about Eva and kids, I think I said, ‘I didn’t think about kids until she told me she was pregnant.’ That’s not really true,” he told the outlet.

He continued, “I didn’t want to overshare, but now I also don’t want to misrepresent. I mean, it’s true that I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her. And there were moments on The Place Beyond the Pines where we were pretending to be a family, and I didn’t really want it to be pretend anymore. I realized that this would be a life I would be really lucky to have.”
Gosling also shared how he relies on Mendes for parenting guidance. “I just lean on Eva,” he said. “She knows what’s important, always. She just somehow knows. So if ever I’m in my head about it, I just ask her.”
