Rumors of a romance brewing between Scarpetta costars Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker have been shot down by multiple sources. However, that hasn’t seemed to put his ex-wife Rebecca Rigg’s mind at ease.
The Oscar-winning actress, 58, isn’t just close friends with Rigg, also 58. She’s also the godmother to her and Baker’s youngest son Harry, 25, per Hello!.
“Rebecca loves Nicole like a sister,” a source tells Globe. “They’ve been through so much together over the years, so it’s extremely shocking for her to get her head around this new dynamic. Like everyone, she’s totally in the dark about Nicole and Simon’s current status.”

Rumors began swirling after Kidman and Baker, 56, were photographed holding hands at the series premiere of Scarpetta in New York City on Tuesday, March 3.
The Australian stars, who play husband and wife in the new Prime Video crime drama, were also reportedly stuck together at the afterparty, per The Sun.
“A lot of their mutual friends assume their hand-holding was a cheesy stunt,” Enquirer’s source reveals. “But the way they’re evading questions about their status and then spending all this cozy time together is giving a lot more validity to the notion that they have turned romantic.”
Rigg and Baker, who split in 2020, “pride themselves on having a totally transparent relationship,” the source adds. “For Nicole to act all coy and sneaky is really breaking the girl code, and a lot of Rebecca’s friends are saying it’s pretty shabby and insensitive on her part.”
