
In Istanbul, 14 suspects were detained as part of a drug-related investigation targeting several well-known figures, according to Turkish authorities. Among those detained are business figures Fikret Orman and Burak Elmas.

In a statement, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation was launched with the aim of protecting public morality, social structure, and family order. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, detention orders were issued for 16 suspects on charges related to possessing narcotics for personal use or facilitating drug use.
As part of the operation, teams from the Istanbul Narcotics Crimes Police Department carried out simultaneous raids at 16 addresses. While 14 suspects were detained, arrest warrants were issued for the remaining two individuals who could not be located.
The list of individuals subject to detention orders reportedly includes Güzide Duran, Hakan Sabancı, Kerim Sabancı, Hande Erçel, Sezgin Köysüren, Ferhat Aydın, Lütfiye Tuğçe Özbudak, Koray Serenli, Onur Bükçü, İsmail Behram Perinçekli, Kaan Mellart, Didem Soydan, Onur Talay, and Mustafa Tari.
Authorities stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
