26 March: HBO Max has launched on Sky and NOW, giving customers continued access to HBO’s unmissable range of TV shows and Warner Bros. movies, as part of Sky’s expanded partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.  

From today, HBO Max Basic with Ads will be included in the Sky TV subscription for millions of eligible customers, worth £4.99 a month. Existing NOW Entertainment members will also be able to watch HBO Max Basic with Ads, included at no extra cost and seamlessly integrated into the NOW app, in a new NOW Entertainment & HBO Max membership. 

This follows the announcement of Sky’s new world-first line-up, which brings together HBO Max, Disney+, Netflix, Hayu and Sky TV into a single subscription with a simple, integrated experience. That’s over £20 worth of streaming apps each month, together with brilliant Sky Originals and Exclusive shows like Saturday Night Live UK, Under Salt Marsh, The Dyers’ Caravan Park, and returning Sweetpea 2.

New customers can get Sky, HBO Max, Disney+, Netflix and Hayu (coming in July) together as part of Sky Ultimate TV from £24 a month, delivering the best value in the market. They can also combine Ultimate TV with Full Fibre 300 broadband for just £41/month (currently £39/month)*. 

Iconic HBO Max series and blockbusters on Sky

Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, and Sky Q customers** will enjoy an incredible line-up of entertainment through HBO Max Basic with Ads, including:

Popular HBO series such as Succession, The Wire and Game of ThronesAcclaimed Max Originals, including 2025 Emmy and Critics Choice award-winning The Pitt, as well as HBO Original Lanterns, from DC Studios A selection of Warner Bros. movies, like Dune, The Batman, and the Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings franchises

Signing up is quick and easy. Eligible customers can select the HBO Max app from the Sky TV homepage or use the “HBO Max” voice command and follow the on-screen steps. Sky+ customers can watch shows and movies with HBO Max Basic with Ads from their Sky homepage, available to browse and watch on demand at the touch of a button. 

Sky Atlantic will remain the place to find upcoming seasons of much-loved HBO shows, such as Euphoria, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, alongside the HBO Max app. 

Sky Cinema customers will continue to get new Warner Bros. movies such as One Battle After Another and Superman, alongside hit films from Sky, Paramount, and NBCUniversal.

Brought together in the Sky TV experience

With the intelligent Sky OS platform, Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers will see shows and movies from HBO Max integrated on the homepage alongside content from Sky, Netflix, Disney+, Hayu, BBC and more. It curates recommendations in one place and provides personalised suggestions of what to watch, so finding the next binge-watch is easy with no need to search the apps.  

The Continue Watching rail lets viewers easily pick up an episode they were partway through or get to the next one quickly. While Playlist allows them to save shows, movies and sports from apps and channels in one place to enjoy whenever they want.  

HBO Max is also integrated into the Sky Q experience, so customers can easily find new recommendations and quickly pick up where they left off in Continue Watching. 

NOW customers can enjoy HBO Max at no extra cost

Existing NOW Entertainment customers will automatically get HBO Max Basic with Ads at no extra cost in a new NOW Entertainment & HBO Max membership. HBO Max Basic with Ads is integrated into the NOW app alongside Sky Originals and Exclusives, with no action required. For new customers, the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max membership will be available from £6.99 a month. 

A new NOW Entertainment membership will also be available from just £4.99 a month, offering access to Sky Originals and Exclusive shows such as Under Salt Marsh, Heated Rivalry, and All Her Fault, alongside the upcoming seasons of returning hit series from HBO. 

Seamless access to TNT Sports via Sky channels or HBO Max

With the launch of HBO Max, TNT Sports will also be available to stream via the HBO Max app for customers who subscribe through Sky. Those who have the TNT Sports pack can continue to watch TNT Sports channels 1-4 in the Sky TV guide, via Sky Go for easy viewing on the move, or through the HBO Max app. Giving fans seamless access to TNT Sports’ premium live coverage – including Premier League, UEFA club competitions, FA Cup, PREM Rugby, Tour de France, MotoGP and more rugby, cycling and motorsport – however they would like to watch it. Sky customers who get HBO Max Basic with Ads can add TNT Sports as a separate Sky TV pack, billed alongside their main Sky TV account, while customers without HBO Max can still add TNT Sports to their Sky package and watch via the HBO Max app.
