Despite claims that Meghan Markle received no help when joining the Royal Family, the book alleges Queen Elizabeth II ordered specific training for Meghan. However, a source claims the Duchess refused to grasp that the monarchy relies on public reverence, allegedly believing she should be treated as God.
The book details a breakdown in relations between Harry and Meghan with Prince William and Princess Catherine. Before the Sussexes moved to the US, a tense meeting allegedly culminated in Meghan snapping at William to get your finger out of her face, highlighting the deep-seated animosity that formed shortly after her 2018 wedding.
Queen Camilla reportedly described the Duke of Sussex as being “brainwashed” by his wife as he adopted her character traits and “passionate hatreds.” The book suggests the Royal Family viewed Meghan as a divisive agent who contributed to Harry becoming estranged from his relatives.
During the creation of his memoir Spare, publishers reportedly found Harry to be an argumentative author who missed deadlines and rejected numerous cover photos. Additionally, Bower claims the couple used their visit to Nigeria as a “battleground” to weaponise claims of racism against the Royal Family.
In response to the book, the Sussexes issued a “furious” statement dismissing the claims as “deranged conspiracy.” However, experts suggest this was a common mistake, arguing that their emotional reaction only gave the book more life and reinforced the narrative that the couple is “thin-skinned.”
