BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills is out at the company after allegations over his “personal conduct.”

According to BBC News, a BBC spokesperson said: “While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted and has left the BBC.”

The Mirror, who was the first to break the news, reported on Monday morning that Mills — who hosts BBC Radio 2’s popular “Breakfast Show” — had been fired following an allegation that was made about his “personal conduct.” According to The Mirror, Mills was taken off air last Tuesday while the BBC assessed the situation and was terminated over the weekend. On Wednesday, Gary Davies started “The Breakfast Show” by saying he was filling in for Mills.

Mills took over “The Breakfast Show” from Zoe Ball in January 2025 after starting at Radio 2 in 2022 in the afternoon slot. He also provided commentary for “Eurovision” and won BBC’s “Celebrity Race Across the World” in 2024 alongside his husband Sam Vaughan. According to the BBC’s latest earnings report, he was the 11th highest-paid presenter at the broadcaster, earning £355,000-£359,999 ($470,100-$476,700) annually.

In an email sent to staff on Monday morning, BBC music director Lorna Clarke said (via BBC News): “I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock. Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programs on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV. I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity. Of course, it will also come as a shock to our audience and loyal breakfast show listeners too. I will update everyone with more information on plans for the show when I’m able to. While I appreciate many of you will have questions, I hope you can understand that I am not going to be saying anything further now.”

A representative for Mills did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
