You knew WWE was going to go all out for Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden in New York this week, but who anticipated none other than Stephanie McMahon showing up for the evening’s festivities?
Well, she sure showed up right at the top of the show, interrupting WWE Champion Cody Rhodes with a message she said he wouldn’t like — namely that he can’t beat this version of Randy Orton — the diabolical son of a bitch he is — as this version of Cody. Dusty Rhodes could get down and dirty with the best of them but…
“You are not your father.”
It felt very much like the usual Steph emasculation promo we’ve seen so many times before. But it was also a chance for Cody to respond and get himself over. His big response? To say “with all due respect, you aren’t your father either.”
That got a big pop from the crowd, but I’m not sure how it’s a bad thing?
She said she cares about Cody and wants to bring out the best in him. She even pushed him a little, which led to the champ spinning her around by force with just two words for her.
