Prince Harry continues to be iced out by the royal family, but there is one person who has warmed up to the idea of a reconciliation: King Charles III.
“Charles is at the point where he wants to forgive Harry and find a path forward,” a source tells In Touch. Prince William, however, “won’t hear of it,” the source admits, “no matter what his father says.”
As In Touch previously reported, the heir apparent, 43, regrets not cutting Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, off when they initially left royal life and has gone so far as to declare them persona non grata.
“It’s becoming a huge battle because William has a ton of influence behind the scenes,” spills the source. “The fact is most people within The Firm agree that Harry and Meghan are poison, so Charles doesn’t have a lot of support for bringing them back in.”

The situation may soon be brought to a head.
Per People, Harry, 41, is expected to return to the U.K. this summer to kick off the countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games — and Meghan, 44, may even join him. However, the Duke of Sussex hasn’t gotten his security approved yet, In Touch’s source reveals, and it’s not looking very likely that he will.
“It’s not being viewed as a move that would go over well with the public, which of course has pleased William to no end,” dishes the source. “He’s saying his brother is getting exactly what he deserved.”
Charles, 77, “is trying to convince key people to push it through, but he’s getting a lot of resistance and he’s convinced it’s down to William meddling,” says the source. “He’s furious and demanding that William back down, but he’s only digging in his heels more.”
Adds the source, “They’re at a complete standoff and the time is running out.”
