What is postpartum hair loss?
Hudgens sharing her journey with fans is both relatable and comforting for new moms because postpartum hair thinning, aka telogen effluvium, is super common. It happens after you give birth when your hormones drop back to normal, and while it can feel scary, it is temporary. Most people see their hair go back to normal within a few months, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Who gets it?
A lot of new moms deal with some level of hair shedding, but how much varies. It really depends on your hormones and genetics. If you’re breastfeeding, it might last a little longer since your hormones are still shifting.

It marks the second glimpse of motherhood this year that the Tick Tick Boom star has shared with fans. Earlier this month, she shared a makeup-free selfie, stretched out on the floor with her hair undone and effortless.
“Never any makeup and always on the floor. Mom life lol,” she wrote, summing up this chapter of her life in one very relatable sentence. Her husband, Cole Tucker, gushed in the comments, “Super mom.”

Aside from moments of their own lives, the couple has kept most details about their children private, including their names, faces, and even sexes.
The actress shared the first photo of her firstborn in a campaign for her partnership with Cool Brands in May 2025, nearly a year after welcoming them. Their face was deliberately not shown.

After welcoming her first child, Hudgens publicly called out paparazzi for photographing her family leaving the hospital, writing that their privacy had been “disrespected and exploited.” Since then, she’s been noticeably more protective, choosing what and how much she shares with her fans.
The couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary in December 2025 after sparks flew in 2020, when they met on a Zoom meditation call.
Their next milestone together will be in July as they celebrate their first child’s second birthday and Tucker’s big 30th.
