Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling will wed in a private ceremony this summer, the couple announced today. The wedding will take place at All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester, on Saturday, June 6.

Peter is the eldest child of Princess Anne and is 19th in line to the throne. The King and Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family have been informed of the date. More details are set to be released shortly.

A statement, released today, said: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date. The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony.”

It is unclear who will attend the royal wedding, but guests are likely to include Peter’s divorced parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, his stepfather Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and his sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are also expected to be among the royal attendees.

Peter proposed to Harriet, an NHS paediatric nurse, last summer after dating for just over a year. Their romance became public in May 2024 when they attended the Badminton Horse Trials hand-in-hand. She later joined the wider Royal Family in the Royal Box at Ascot the following month.

It will mark Peter’s second marriage, after divorcing Autumn Phillips in June 2021. The couple separated two years earlier and the split was understood to be amicable.

The former couple have two daughters, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, who are likely to be flower girls at the wedding.

Harriet is also divorced, having previously married fitness instructor Antonio St John Sperling. They have a daughter together, Georgia, who was born in 2012.

The bride-to-be grew up in the village of South Cerney in Gloucestershire, near where the wedding is being held.
