Eva Longoria discussed filming sex scenes on Desperate Housewives in a new interview.
She played Gabrielle Solis on the hit ABC series, with Jesse Metcalfe portraying her much younger lover.
“We got along the best,” Longoria said in part.
Two decades after the debut of Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria is spilling some behind-the-scenes tea about working on the ABC series—specifically, her sex scenes with actor Jesse Metcalfe.
Longoria received her first Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Gabrielle Solis, a disillusioned model-turned-housewife who strikes up an affair with her teenage gardener, played by Metcalfe.

“Every scene with Jesse—I heard him on a podcast the other day talking about it—Jesse and I had so much fun,” Longoria told People in an interview published on Monday.
“He played 17 years old, but he was 25 years old. I was playing 40, but I was 29. So we were basically the same age—I was aged up and he was aged down. People always forget that,” Longoria said.

“We got along the best—he’ll tell you that. We had the best time, we laughed so much,” she added. “We had so many bathtub scenes and sex scenes; you have to lighten the mood sometimes.”
“I adore Jesse Metcalfe. I adored my time with him. I’m so happy it was him that I got to experience that global phenomenon with. He was amazing and he still is an amazing human being,” Longoria concluded.
Desperate Housewives premiered in 2004, racking up multiple Emmys and Golden Globes throughout its eight-season run.

Metcalfe echoed Longoria’s sentiment in a previous interview with People.
“There was a lot of making out. There were a lot of sex scenes and a lot of making out between Eva and I,” he told the outlet in 2024. “And although those scenes could be awkward at times, we were always laughing. So, we always had a great time. We didn’t take it too seriously, that’s for sure.”
