Holy mackerel. I read this book 25 years ago and always wondered why they’ve never adapted it. I remember hating every character, but that’s not necessarily a drawback to good television. And if Meryl Streep is in, so am I.

Hey, I just finished this book!
I do sort of wish we could watch the pilot HBO shot about fifteen years ago. The one with Ewan McGregor as the younger brother. I also wonder whether they’ll update the setting or keep it as a primarily late 20th century period piece.
