It does genuinely feel like people dont care because, Racism. (they dont care, because the people who are the victims of the genocide, Arent white.) That, or like what someone also pointed out, dont care because it isnt happening to them.

This is a consequence of Democrats facilitating and participating in the genocide of Palestinians. Genocide is normalized and no one bats an eye. Countless policies meant to prevent atrocities were routinely circumvented by the Biden administration and Trump wants to do the same to Iran to cause irreversible damage.
There is a deep rot in American politics and it’s happening regardless of which party is running the show. I don’t know how a country can go from genocide to genocide to genocide like this. It’s truly disgusting. I’m glad someone like Greta is speaking up for humanity. She has done so much at a great personal even being harmed in the process but she still shows up.

The issue is, the world has set themselves up to rely so heavily on the united states both militarily and economically that no country individually or collectively can effectively mount any opposition.

She is vocalizing what I’ve been thinking. Why is nobody reacting appropriately to this. We cannot be this far gone, I refuse to believe that.

I can’t stand how demonized one side of the spectrum has made this young woman. She’s incredibly thoughtful, principled, articulate, and consistently correct.
As an American all I can say is that we badly failed as a society. We have a responsibility to wisely choose good leaders, and we failed. We have a responsibility to effectively demand accountability and we failed. We have a responsibility to ensure those in power follow the rule of law and we failed. Time and time again we failed.
All of us. Every single one of us could have done more. If you voted for Trump, you shouldn’t have. If you didn’t, you should’ve protested his actions and behavior. If you did, you should’ve protested louder and more forcefully. If you did, you should’ve cut off your friends and family for supporting him.
All of us could have done more than we did, and maybe collectively if we had, things would be different. If we get through this we MUST recognize the importance of standing up to tyranny in every feasible way and be more willing to make sacrifices to ensure a sane country governed by same leaders.
This statement alone would’ve at least brought an impeachment motion few decades ago.
Anyone talking shit about Greta gets immediate side eye from me. She has been right from day one.
