Meghan Markle has reportedly been “bombarded” with offers of work amid one former co-star’s claim that she is “ready to act again”. The 44-year-old was previously known for her role as Rachel Zane on US legal drama Suits.
Meghan previously held the role between 2011 and 2017, ending her time on the show shortly before tying the knot with Prince Harry the following May. A senior Los Angeles casting agent has now revealed that Meghan has received many offers of work, with roles in a range of different genres, including rom-coms and horrors.
Speaking to Page Six, the source said: “Meghan has been the hottest talking point in Hollywood circles in the last couple of weeks.
“The very suggestion that she is planning to come back to acting has prompted interest the likes I have never seen in my three decades in the business.”
They added: “Offers for leading roles and development proposals have flooded in. We are talking purveyors of genres including rom coms, drama, sitcoms and even soap operas. We cast across the board, and everyone wants to be in the conversation.”
Speaking of the former actress, the source added: “The reality of the excitement is because having Meghan in a screen project is a big deal on several fronts.
“The primary opportunities seen by executives are how much attention Meghan’s return would bring to a project, which would prompt potentially tens of millions of investment money.”
Since stepping down from acting, the sources added that there is now a “huge question mark in town around who represents her interests today”.
They added: “Agents, studios, production houses and even writers are trying to find connections to Meghan through her old agents, businesses and charity”.
Meghan was spotted on the set of Close Personal Friends last year.
