A classic 90s Steven Speilberg film will air this weekend on ITV. With a rather gloomy weather forecast for the next few days, it’s the perfect time to snuggle up on the sofa and put on a good film. Steven Spielberg is responsible for some of the most iconic films we all know and love.
Some of his most famous movies include E.T, Jaws, Schindler’s List and of course, the Indiana Jones franchise. This weekend, the 1993 adventure film Jurassic Park airs on ITV1.
The hit film has a star-studded cast including Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and Samuel L Jackson.
The sci-fi film took the world by storm and two additional films were released shortly after to make up the trilogy. The Lost World: Jurassic Park was released in 1997, followed by Jurassic Park III in 2001.
The original film follows a group of scientists as they are given a sneak preview of a safari park inhabited by genetically engineered dinosaurs.

However, it all goes wrong when a greedy employee sabotages the security systems, allowing the dinosaurs to roam free and hunt the visitors.
Jurassic Park is based on the novel of the same name written by Michael Crichton.
When the storyline was transformed into a blockbuster in 1993, it had phenomenal global reach which has proved to stand the test of time.
Today, Universal Studios operates several “Jurassic” themed areas, including the Jurassic World rollercoaster and the Jurassic Park River Adventure.
There was also an additional trilogy released more recently, which is made up of Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom, and Dominion.
Jurassic World airs Sunday, April 12 at 2.10pm on ITV1
