New reports suggest that the final trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will arrive soon, and with it will come the beginning of ticket presales.
CinemaCon certainly is expected to be special for Star Wars between Starfighter and The Mandalorian and Grogu, with director Jon Favreau hosting a convention event on the final day of the convention (Thursday, April 16), and his movie is expected to have a presence as part of Disney’s panel that same day – although CinemaCon is an exhibitors-only event, meaning that only people attending will see new footage. But a rumor account has recently teased that fans won’t have very long to wait, as the major marketing phase of promotion is set to begin on April 17, kicked off by a final trailer, character posters, popcorn buckets, theater merchandise, and – of course – the proper beginning of ticket sales for the movie’s released. You can see the tweets below:
I have had it confirmed that the final trailer for Mando and Grogu arrives next week as well as the start of major marketing for the film. Expect character posters and the popcorn bucket reveals too.

Take this information with a grain of salt for now, but it seems that we are entering the final stretch of the marketing campaign for The Mandalorian and Grogu, with the release a little over a month out. Early box office tracking for the movie suggests a three-day opening above $70M, not including the Memorial Day holiday. The movie’s runtime is expected to be about 2 hours and 12 minutes before the final edit has been submitted.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026. The film is directed by Jon Favreau, who also co-wrote the script with Dave Filoni. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward, and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Grogu as himself, among others. Three-time Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson composed the film’s score. Former Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy and Ian Bryce will also produce alongside Filoni and Favreau.
